KTC and SOAP Goods Creative have partnered to present Iris van Herpen: The Future of Digital Fashion, a panel discussion with the curator of the High Museum of Art’s first fashion exhibition, Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion.

Sarah Schleuning, the High’s Curator of Decorative Arts and Design, will lead the panel discussing the curation of the new exhibit and the future of fashion locally, globally and digitally with Atlanta designers Abbey Glass, Regina Weir, and digital manufacturer, Anastasia Nicole.

Van Herpen’s one-of-a-kind haute couture combines traditional craftsmanship and innovative technology, including some of the world’s first examples of 3D-printed fashion.  The exhibit will feature pieces from 2008 through 2015, including designs that inspired styles created for Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Björk.

If you’ve been lucky enough to attend one of Flux Projects‘ Up Right Atlanta performances at Ponce City Market, then you’ve seen 18-year-old dancer Quintrail Davis in action.

Part of Dance 411, an Atlanta-based dance troupe in Grant Park, Quintrail was among hundreds who auditioned at Spelman College for acclaimed performance artist, sculptor and choreographer Nick Cave and Atlanta’s own T. Lang, founder and artistic director of T. Lang Dance Company. Cave worked with T. Lang to develop Up Right Atlanta and members of her Company perform in the piece as well.

We Heart MA + MA! Talks Designing an Experience

MA-Talks-002

Prior to working with MA (Modern Atlanta) on MA14, we’d been big fans of the MA International Design Expo at ADAC. As fans, it was clear MA’s founders championed innovation, encouraged creative knowledge sharing and ultimately, wanted to promote great design. It was an easy relationship to enthusiastically jump into!

After a great MA14, we’re beyond excited to partner with MA again on MA15 Design is Human Week! To extend the design conversation while planning for MA15, we’re hosting MA! Talks at Octane Coffee on the first Monday of every other month through MA15 Design is Human Week.

The final MA! Talks for 2014 is about “Designing An Experience” with Ciera Tavana of SOFIAXIV and XIV Dinners, Gavin Bernard of Wake Up Dear and Grafite, and Vanessa Toro of Revel Forces.
